Curriculum

First year

Students are required to study physics, chemistry, and mathematics, which are the common base of the natural sciences and technology.

Second year

In the second year, students study three basic disciplines; biology, chemistry, and physico-informatics on which the activities of our department are based.

Third & Fourth Years

Advanced courses in biosciences and bioinformatics for third and fourth-year students are offered both by departmental staff and by instructors from other institutes. Students are encouraged to proceed beyond the traditional framework of biology and learn molecular theoretical viewpoints of life, how to describe biopolymers in terms of physics and chemistry, and how to process information in biological databases on computers through practice in laboratories.
